What Is PTO?
PTO stands for Parent Teacher Organization. It is comprised of parents, teachers, staff, and community members who have joined together with the goal of providing extra support and opportunities for our children at Vickery Mill Elementary. We do this by fundraising, volunteering, and providing extra support wherever it is needed.
We are always looking for people who want to get more involved in the education of our kids. Below are just some of the ways that you can contribute to help enrich the education and experience that VME’s students receive.
Support.
There are numerous opportunities to support our kids and teachers in the classroom. You can help teachers prepare materials and packets. Get crafty with our bulletin boards throughout the building. And guest readers are always a big hit.
Donate.
100% of any financial contributions go directly to resources needed within our school. These have been used for various PTO-led programs, such as teacher grants, new playground/sports equipment, our STEM lab, and more. The easiest way to make an impact is via your donations.
Volunteer.
PTO hosts numerous fundraising events throughout the year. Sweetheart Dance, Carnival, Soccer Night, Holiday Shop are all PTO-sponsored events. Without volunteers, we cannot successfully host these events. The giving of your time is a great way to show your support, and is critical to our fundraising success.
